Peonies

Peonies make me think of Mother. She always had peonies in her garden and both the colors white and pink were cut for the dining room table.

When I bought these last week they were not open and as they have been opening I realized the fragrance reminds me of Mother too.

I have tried to grow peonies many times and they never make it here in Northern California. So I am grateful for Trader Joe and United Markets for getting the flowers to us.
