Pagoda and Dragon Boat

Pagoda which I have thought of as a building is really a complex of buildings, gardens, and walkways some of which are devoted to spiritual rites others not.

There is a pagoda building but there is far more in the complex.

We walked through gardens of u Japanese Bonsai, and small gardens of colors.

One fascinating exhibit was the car belonging to the first monk to burn himself alive as a protest against government actions against human rights.

Hopefully you can read the message in Vietnamese and English.

We did have to remove our shoes at the part of the site devoted to prayer.

Depending on light the Pagoda changes and here the quiet sentry stands to guard the site.
It is Sunday and this little family is going down to the same river where we will get on our Dragon Boat.
