Our next stop was an elementary school where we were greeted by children in native fiesta dress. Each kid took two adults one in each hand to an open super-clean covered room.
They danced and sang their national anthem and then the teacher played our national anthem and we all sang. The Foundation associated with Overseas Adventure Travel supports 5 schools in Costa Rica. This is one of them.
It is a very spiffy school and is eight years old. The school community has grown from 45 when they began to 365 now and it is a public school. All schools have uniforms and a set of rules aimed at learning good behavior and respect for others.
Then we went to our lunch with a local family.
